TERMS OF USE
- Overview
These Terms of Use (Terms) govern your access to and use of the MyEventLane website, platform, and related services (collectively, MyEventLane). By accessing or using MyEventLane, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use MyEventLane.
- Role of MyEventLane
MyEventLane provides tools that allow organisers (sometimes called vendors) to create, promote, and manage events, and for attendees to discover events, purchase tickets, or register via RSVP.
Unless MyEventLane itself is listed as the organiser for a specific event, we:
- do not host or run the event
- are not responsible for event content, safety, or quality
- are not a party to the contract between the organiser and the attendee.
Payment processing for most events is handled via third party providers such as Stripe, including Stripe Connect for organiser payouts. In these cases:
- the financial transaction for tickets or paid registrations is between the attendee, the organiser, and the payment provider
- MyEventLane provides the technical integration but does not act as the organiser’s financial adviser or tax agent.
Organisers are responsible for complying with all applicable laws, safety requirements, venue rules, and any promises they make to attendees.
- Eligibility and accounts
To create an account or use certain features you must:
- be legally capable of entering into a binding agreement under the laws that apply to you
- provide accurate, current information and keep it updated
- maintain the confidentiality of your login details and all activity under your account.
If you act as an organiser and wish to accept paid tickets or other paid services through MyEventLane, you must:
- create and maintain a valid account with our supported payment partner (for example, Stripe)
- successfully complete any onboarding, identity, and verification requirements set by that payment partner
- connect your payment account to MyEventLane using the tools provided (for example, Stripe Connect onboarding)
- keep that connection active and up to date.
If you do not complete or maintain this connection, you may be unable to sell tickets, receive payouts, or use certain features.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that:
- provide false or misleading information
- misuse the platform
- breach these Terms or applicable law.
- Event listings and organiser responsibilities
Organisers must:
- provide accurate event information, including date, time, location, and pricing
- clearly describe any important conditions (for example, age restrictions or accessibility limitations)
- honour valid tickets or RSVPs issued through MyEventLane
- handle refunds, cancellations, and changes in line with applicable law and any stated policies
- ensure that their use of payment providers such as Stripe complies with those providers’ terms and all applicable laws (including tax and consumer law).
MyEventLane may, at its discretion, hide or remove events that:
- appear fraudulent or misleading
- promote harm, hate, or illegal activity
- breach these Terms or other published policies.
- Tickets, RSVPs, and refunds
When you purchase a ticket or register via MyEventLane:
- you enter into an agreement primarily with the organiser, not with MyEventLane (unless we are explicitly listed as the organiser)
- the organiser’s refund and cancellation policies apply, subject to applicable law.
MyEventLane:
- facilitates the transaction and delivery of tickets or confirmations using payment partners such as Stripe
- is not responsible for event cancellations, date changes, or changes in event content, unless we are the organiser.
If an event is cancelled or significantly changed, your rights to a refund or credit depend on the organiser’s policies and applicable law. We may assist in passing on information or tools, but we do not guarantee any particular refund outcome.
Disputes about card charges, chargebacks, or reversals are generally handled between the attendee, the organiser, the card issuer, and the payment provider (for example, Stripe). MyEventLane is not liable for decisions made by banks or payment providers.
- Fees, payment processing, and payouts
6.1 Service fees
Organisers agree that MyEventLane may charge service fees for using the platform. These fees may be:
- added to ticket prices and paid by attendees
- deducted from organiser payouts
- or a combination of both, as shown at checkout or in organiser settings.
Attendees agree to pay the ticket price plus any displayed fees and applicable taxes.
6.2 Stripe and other payment providers
MyEventLane uses third party payment providers such as Stripe to:
- process attendee payments
- route funds to organisers using tools such as Stripe Connect
- handle security checks, fraud monitoring, and regulatory checks such as KYC (know your customer).
To receive payouts from ticket sales or other paid items on MyEventLane, organisers must:
- create and maintain a valid Stripe (or other supported provider) account in their own name or their business name
- complete all required Stripe onboarding and verification steps
- connect that account to MyEventLane using the supplied integration flow (for example, “Connect with Stripe”)
- ensure that their bank details, tax information, and business details provided to Stripe are accurate and kept up to date.
Organisers acknowledge that:
- failure to complete or maintain this connection may delay, block, or prevent payouts
- Stripe or other providers may hold, delay, or reverse funds in line with their own policies and legal obligations
- MyEventLane does not control those independent decisions.
6.3 Payouts to organisers
Payouts to organisers are:
- processed only for successfully completed transactions
- subject to any fees, holds, reserves, or compliance checks imposed by Stripe or other payment providers
- generally paid out by Stripe (or the provider) directly to the organiser’s nominated bank account, not by MyEventLane manually.
MyEventLane does not hold or manage organiser funds beyond what is technically necessary to support the payment provider’s process. Organisers are responsible for:
- reconciling their Stripe payouts with event sales
- handling their own accounting, tax reporting, and compliance obligations
- monitoring their payout schedule and resolving any account issues directly with Stripe if required.
6.4 Taxes
Organisers are solely responsible for:
- determining whether GST, VAT, sales tax, or any other taxes apply to their events
- setting prices that account for those taxes
- reporting and paying any taxes owed to the relevant authorities.
MyEventLane does not provide tax advice and does not automatically calculate all potential tax obligations. Organisers should seek their own professional advice.
- Acceptable use
You must not use MyEventLane to:
- break the law or encourage others to do so
- harass, threaten, or abuse others
- upload or share content that is hateful, defamatory, obscene, or misleading
- attempt to access data you are not authorised to view
- interfere with the security, performance, or integrity of the platform.
We may suspend or terminate access where we reasonably believe there has been a breach of these rules.
- Intellectual property
Unless otherwise indicated:
- MyEventLane owns the rights to the platform’s design, software, and branding.
- Organisers generally retain rights to their own event descriptions, images, and content, but grant MyEventLane a licence to display and promote their events on the platform and related channels.
You must not:
- copy, modify, or distribute MyEventLane’s code or design without permission
- use branding, logos, or trademarks in a way that suggests endorsement without our written consent.

- MyEventLane is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, loss of profits, loss of data, or loss of opportunity arising from your use of the platform or attendance at events
- our total liability for any claim related to MyEventLane will be limited to the greater of:
- the total fees you paid to MyEventLane for the event or transaction in question, or
- a reasonable capped amount specified under applicable law.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
- Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless MyEventLane and its personnel from and against any claims, damages, losses, and expenses arising out of:
- your breach of these Terms
- your misuse of the platform
- your events or content, where you act as an organiser
- your use of payment providers (including Stripe) in connection with MyEventLane, except where MyEventLane itself has directly caused the issue through serious fault.
- Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When changes are made, we will update the “last updated” date and may provide additional notice where appropriate.
If you continue using MyEventLane after changes take effect, you agree to the updated Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using the platform.
- Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, unless a different law is required by the mandatory rules of your local jurisdiction.
